Memorial ParadeTCSLEA and AAPFF
Congress Avenue Bridge to Texas State Capitol 7:30 p.m. Two ladder companies of the Austin Fire Department will extend their ladders to form an arch in the middle of Congress Avenue. The procession will be lead by color guards, the firefighter bagpipe corps, elected officials, VIPs and event sponsors. Every law enforcement agency, fire department and Emergency Medical Service units in the state of Texas will be invited to send representatives to Austin to participate in the evening parade. A long line of emergency response vehicles will silently roll up Congress Avenue with their lights turned on. Downtown Austin will be flooded with a bright glow of red, blue and amber lights. As the procession reaches the State Capitol grounds, the emergency units will stop at the front gates of the State Capitol. All of the events are open to the public free of charge.
