Firefighters Memorial Service
Austin Association of Professional Firefighters
Old Fire Training Tower (North Shore of Town Lake)
7:30 to 8:30 a.m.
The memorial service will include bagpipes, a City of Austin Proclamation and the ringing of a fire bell, followed by a moment of silence at 7:46 a.m. (the time the first plane hit the World Trade Center).
The names of fallen local firefighters will be read aloud.
Elected officials, representatives of the Travis County Sheriffs' Law Enforcement Association, the Austin Police Association and other law enforcement agencies will be present at this opening ceremony.
All of the events are open to the public free of charge.
