On September 11, 2002, the Travis County Sheriffs' Law Enforcement Association
(TCSLEA) will coordinate a series of memorial events to commemorate last year's horrific tragedy.
The Austin Association of Professional Firefighters (AAPFF) will be working with TCSLEA to provide our community with a day of remembrance. The 9/11 USA Project will recognize the men and women of law enforcement, firefighters, Emergency Medical Services and other emergency personnel who serve our community. TCSLEA and AAPFF will host New York firefighters and police officers who were at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. These firefighters and police officers will be in Austin several days before the events and available to the media for interviews and the school district for special appearances and speeches.
